What happens if I exceed my plan's pass count?
Nothing breaks. We'll reach out to discuss moving you to a larger plan. We never auto-charge overage fees or interrupt service mid-month.
Do passes count once they're issued or once they're installed?
Active passes mean installed and being updated. A pass that's been sent but never added to a wallet doesn't count toward your limit. A pass that the customer deleted also stops counting.
What's included in the free trial?
14 days free on the plan you choose, with everything that plan includes. No credit card is needed to sign up and design your card. Your trial starts, and we ask for a card, when you publish your first card. Nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then.
Can I switch tiers later?
Yes — upgrade or downgrade at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and are pro-rated. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Do you charge per push notification?
No. Unlimited push within your plan. Frequency is best-practice limited only by what actually serves your customers.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AmEx) for self-serve plans. For Scale and Enterprise, we also support invoicing on net-30 with a signed agreement.
Do I need an Apple Developer account?
No. Passes are signed with Shakewell's own Apple certificate, so you do not need an Apple Developer account of your own to issue Apple Wallet or Google Wallet passes. Using your own certificate is a separate option and is not part of standard plans.
Where is my customers' data stored?
Customer data is stored in Australia or the United States by default, depending on customer location. Scale and Enterprise customers can specify residency requirements as part of contracting. See our security page for details.
Can I move over from PassKit?
Yes. Existing pass templates and customer data export cleanly, and we help rebuild templates in the visual builder. Most teams are fully migrated in one to two weeks, and paid customers get concierge migration help at no extra cost.
